At the Wadena city council meeting, it was announced that the Government Finance Officers Association awarded the city a Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending Dec. 2010.
"It's the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and it's a significant accomplishment by government finance management," Mayor Wayne Wolden said.
He congratulated City Administrator Brad Swenson and gave him the plaque to pass around to the staff.
