At a public meeting last week, eight bids were opened for the demolition of Wadena-Deer Creek High School. All eight of the bidders were from Minnesota. Chad Rettke (pictured) is the senior project manager for Krause-Anderson Construction Company, who opened the bids. Kraus-Anderson was hired by Wadena-Deer Creek Public Schools to manage the high school construction site. Looking on (above) is WDC Superintendent Virginia Dahlstrom. Also present was Business Manager Jerry Anderson who recorded the bids. Many of the bidders were in the audience during the opening of the bids.
Rettke will interview the low bidders and review the contracted work to make sure the bid is accurate. Demolition of the high school is slated for the middle of October. The 45-year-old high school was damaged in the June 17 tornadoes this summer.
