Bernice Luella Bodas, 81, of Henning, formerly of New York Mills, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007.
She was born in rural New York Mills on June 24, 1926. She married Roy Bodas on Nov. 5, 1947. The couple lived in New York Mills before moving to Henning in the early 1950s. She worked at Brutlag's Market for many years. She loved music and played the harmonica. She enjoyed spending time with family, and also planting and gardening brought her much joy.
A service was held celebrating her life in Christ on Monday, Sept. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Henning. Internment was at the Prairie Cemetery in Ottertail following the service. Arrangements were provided by the Belmont Funeral Home of Henning.
Survivors include her children, Galen (Katie) Bodas, Rapid City, S.D.; Roxanne (Reggie) Thiel, Laporte, Minn.; and Kim (Greg) Wollan, White Bear Lake, Minn.; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Doris Krueger and Betty Lowry of Texas, Maurice Skoog, Jack Skoog, James Skoog, Donna Skoog, all of New York Mills; and many friends in the area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and parents, Vernon and Alina Skoog.
