Aviah K. Cole (formerly Kristen Naylor), 54, of Overland Park, Kansas, died after a long illness at St. Lukes South Hospital on May 10, 2006.
She was born Nov. 23, 1951, to Bruce and Arliss Naylor in Bertha. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a bachelors of science degree in medical technology. Plans to enter medical school were cut short by medical problems. She was married on Nov. 26, 1988, to Craig Cole in Fargo, N.D. They resided in Topeka, Kansas, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before settling in Overland Park, Kansas. She was involved in disability rights issues, an active member in her congregation and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband to Paris, Hawaii and many other locations. She also loved animals, and was involved with the Kansas Specialty Dog Society, having a service dog of her own named Jay. Mt. Moriah & Freeman Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
Services were held at May 14 at Congregation Beth Torah in Overland Park, Kansas.
She is survived by her husband; mother; sister, Sheila Atwater of Ferndale, Wash.; brother, David (Ruth) Cole; in-laws, nieces and nephews.
