At about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence several miles southeast of Perham.
While en route, deputies learned the man had physically assaulted his girlfriend. A deputy encountered the vehicle, which was initially traveling westbound on 390the Street, as the suspect was leaving the scene of the incident.
The suspect accelerated and fled from the pursuing deputy at very high and unsafe speeds. The suspect drove onto private property near the junction of State Highway 78 and County Highway 14.
The suspect and a passenger then abandoned and fled from the vehicle into a heavily wooded area. The juvenile passenger was located and taken into protective custody.
