Alyce Harriet Bergdahl, 66, of Wadena, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at the St. Cloud Hospital.
She was born to Reuben and Aurelia (Giefer) Lawson on Aug. 9, 1940, in Thief River Falls. She graduated from Thief River Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Dwight Delano "Doug" Bergdahl on July 27, 1962, in South Milwaukee, Wis. They moved to Wadena in 1987 where they operated the Brookside Motel for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Christian Women, Tri-County Hospital Auxiliary and a Pink Lady volunteer at Tri-County Hospital. She loved playing cards with friends, entertaining, golf, jewelry making, shopping, traveling, cooking and sewing. Family time was also very important to her.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, June 6, at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Donald Wagner and the Rev. Thomas Knoblach as celebrants. Pallbearers were family members Mark, Brett and Alex Bergdahl, Jim and Seth Sharbono, Bob Lawson and Troy Brandt. The Johnson Memorial Home of Wadena was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Marissa (Jim) Sharbono of St. Cloud; sons, Mark of Madison, Wis., and Brett (Lacey) of Allyn, Wash.; six grandchildren; sisters Mary Ann Chwialkowski and Lucy Knoll both of Stephen, Cathie Allen of Juneau, Alaska; Judy (Lynn) Egenes of Detroit Lakes; brother, Bob (Linda) Lawson of Fargo; brother-in-law Sonny (Ardell) Bergdahl. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doug on Aug. 18, 1996; sister and brother-in-law Adeline and Gene Brandt; brother-in-law Herman Knoll.
