Alice Marie Smith, 94, of Eagle Bend, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa.
She was born Aug. 9, 1912, to Ezra and Cora (Pamperin) Smith at Glencoe, Minn. Her family moved to Eagle Bend early in her life. She attended country school and worked as a housekeeper in family homes. She was a member of the Assemblies of God Church in Eagle Bend where she served as Sunday school treasurer for many years. She loved gardening and cooking, as well as being creative crocheting and tatting.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Assemblies of God Church in Eagle Bend with the Rev. Robert Kaumans presiding. Honorary pallbearers were Dawn Speckeen and Monica Mattila. Pallbearers were Dalas Nordstrom, Gary Smith, Greg Smith, Chris Mattila, Wade Skillings and John Chandler. Interment was in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Eagle Valley Township.
Survivors include her brother, Melvin (Florine) Smith, of Eagle Bend; niece, Marilyn Nordstrom; nephew, Gary Smith; and her special friend, Peggy Wilhelmi of Bertha.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Cora.
