Brigetta Berg and Joey Peters, Wadena-Deer Creek High School seniors, have been selected to represent Region 6A in the Academics, Arts and Athletics Award program.

Established in 1988, the Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (Triple "A" Award) is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a "B" or better grade-point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine-arts activities.

During their high school careers, both Berg and Peters have been successful in the classroom and on the playing field. Berg has been involved in the National Honor Society, choir, volleyball, basketball and track. Peters has participated in choir, hockey and baseball.

Triple "A" Award recipients are selected by a multi-level process involving the League's member schools and administrative regions. League officials will announce the four award recipients from both Class A and Class AA at an on-court recognition ceremony held on March 24. Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.

Berg is the daughter of Patty Berg and Svend Berg and Peters is the son of Gary and Tammy Peters.
