The 2008 Hides for Habitat project collected 965 hides at 14 different locations in Wadena and Otter Tail County.
The hides are sold with a No. 1 hide bringing in $8.50 and a No. 2 hide bringing in $3.50 to the Wadena Chapter of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.
The chapter also gets matching funds from Reinvest in Minnesota and Legislative-Citizens Commission on Minnesota Resource.
Funds are used to provide seed corn and wildlife plot seed for Wadena MDHA members along with funds for reforestation projects. The chapter will provide seven camperships to youth in the area to attend environmental camps.
