CEO students hosting ice fishing jamboree Feb. 25
The Central Minnesota CEO class is hosting a family-friendly ice fishing tournament, Saturday, Feb. 25 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Dower Lake near Staples.
Prizes and trophies for most fish, along with the grand prize of a four-hour guided fishing trip by Walleye Dan. The cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 13 and under. Tickets are available at Wadena-Deer Creek and Staples-Motley High Schools and the following businesses: Ace Hardware, Auto Value, Ernie's Grocery Store, Jon's Family Foods and Lefty's in Staples and at Fleet Supply in Wadena. CEO is a nontraditional business class for juniors and seniors. It is entrepreneurship education that prepares youth to be responsible, enterprising individuals who become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial thinkers and contribute to economic development and sustainable rural communities. Central CEO is comprised of students from both Wadena-Deer Creek and Staples-Motley school districts.
