New pastor at the Wadena Assembly of God Church
Michael Maroney is the new Pastor at the Wadena Assembly of God Church.
Maroney moved from North Platte, Neb., to Wadena in November. Maroney wasted no time transitioning to his new home. According to Maroney, they moved on the 2nd, unloaded the truck on the 3rd, and on the 4th of November he had his first Sunday service.
Maroney and his wife Janice recently had a baby, Lee Roy Michael Maroney. The birth went very well and the Maroney family had nothing but praise for the staff at Tri-County Health Care. The hospital is conveniently located right across the street from the Wadena Assembly of God. "Everyone was very accommodating," said Maroney when asked about the birth. He explained that Tri-County Health Care is an asset to the community and were very helpful during every step of the pregnancy.
"Everyone I've met has been so friendly and Wadena has everything you need," said Maroney of Wadena. He and his family are ecstatic about their new home in Wadena. Maroney spoke highly of the small town and its residents. They have truly been welcomed with open arms. The only challenge since the move has been dealing with almost 16 inches of snow. He was thrilled to see that his new church even has a snow blower.
"The Lord had called me ... bottom line," said Maroney when asked why he wanted to become a pastor. Maroney was licensed in 2003 and ordained in 2005.
The Assembly of God Church is located at 419 1st Street NW. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and main service is at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Sunday evening service starts at 6 p.m. and typically lasts around an hour.
