The Abbey Road Band has been performing its Beatles tribute show since 2002. Headquartered in Rapid City, S.D., they are well known throughout the Dakotas. Having performed events large and small, the Fourth of July celebration at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial for an estimated crowd of 30,000 was a highlight.
This premier Beatles tribute band brings its authentic re-creation of the Beatles sound to Wadena at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18 at Memorial Auditorium. This timeless and highly entertaining show will thrill teenagers to senior citizens and is brought Wadena by the Wadena Area Concert Association.
The Abbey Road Band is a group of veteran musicians who also happen to be passionate Beatles fans. They have discussed at length how to present a fitting tribute to the Beatles without fake wigs, costumes and some attempt to actually look like the Beatles. They're not 20 years old anymore, so they decided that their emphasis would be on the music and the sound. The challenge of performing Beatles music live, especially from the later albums, is met through the use of synthesizers and digital drums. Every part is live.
