As seen on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Gust Alexander and Kim Thomassen bill themselves with the playful moniker The Stagebenders. Las Vegas Magazine has called them, "600 pounds of Las Vegas showgirl wrapped into two chubby bald guys!"
The two will appear at the Wadena VFW on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. Ticket information is available by calling (218) 632-6951.
The Stagebenders are two junior high school buddies from Minneapolis that cracked up all of their friends. They now play to sellout audiences at concerts, comedy clubs and colleges from coast to coast. They are the only national performers to ever win the "MTV Comedy Challenge" twice in a row.
The Stagebenders love to make people laugh. The St. Paul Pioneer Press has called them, "The Abbot and Costello for the new millennium!" The Minneapolis StarTribune has called them, "The Prince of Banter and the Prince of Glib."
This dynamic duo has television and film appearances that include "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," ABC's "America's Funniest People," MTV's "The Jenny McCarthy Show," the Paramount feature film "TREKKIES 2," and the Coen Brothers' "The Naked Man." They have been featured in national publications such as Esquire and -- believe it or not -- Mechanical Engineering.
