The annual Wings and Wheels over Wadena event will be Saturday morning, June 27 at the Wadena Municipal Airport.
Festivities will start with a breakfast served at 7 a.m. and vintage airplanes on display. Airplane rides will be available (weather permitting), model airplanes and vintage cars on display and the Miss Wadena court will be attending. An air show will be featured from 11 a.m. to noon. Two brothers, Paul and Jarrod Lindemann, from Valley City, N.D. will be performing in the air show. They are crop duster pilots who perform in air shows on weekends. One will be riding in a Pitts Special S-2B. Pitts Specials are small, tough, biplanes that have the ability to perform a variety of stunts across the sky. The other will be riding in an open cockpit Stearman biplane that once flew in the Red Baron Stearman Squadron.
The event is put on by the Wadena Pilot's Association.
Darrell Janson, an organizer of the event, said the Saturday morning time will be good because it will be between Wadena County Fair events, which are more in the afternoons and evenings.
