It looks like a record year for the Wadena Rotary Club who served up around 1,900 corn and chicken meals during their 53rd annual event, Thursday, Aug. 15 in Burlington Northern Park, according to chair person Don Niles.

The event enjoyed rain-free weather and cooler temperatures. Rotary members shucked a little over 300 dozen ears of corn for the event, fried chicken for about eight hours and melted over 80 pounds of butter. Funds raised from the event go toward student scholarships.
