Stamp Out Hunger campaign takes place May 12
On May 12, the rural and city letter carriers in Otter Tail County will deliver much more than mail when they walk and drive along their postal routes.
They will also collect the goodness and compassion of their postal customers participating in the 26th annual NALC National Food Drive — the largest one-day food drive in the nation. The donated food will be distributed directly to local food pantries.
United Way of Otter Tail and Wadena Counties and the National Association of Letter Carriers are pleased to partner with this event and appreciate the support of the communities in Otter Tail County.
Last year Otter Tail County Letter Carriers collected over 5,617 pounds of food which went to help children and families in Otter Tail County living with food insecurities.
It's easy to make a donation, simply leave a bag of non-perishable food by your mailbox on Saturday, May 12.
For more information about this National Food Drive at www.nalc.org/community-service/food-drive. Gifts of cash/checks are also accepted and they can be directly written out to your local food shelf.
United Way goes beyond temporary fixes to create lasting changes that lift up communities around Otter Tail & Wadena Counties.
