One of the most familiar and popular of all the paintings of Jesus Christ is the "Head of Christ" painted by Warner F. Sallman in 1940. That popular image and others will he featured in a program at the Thomastown Covenant Church, 15940 251st Ave., Staples, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
A PowerPoint presentation -- "The Master Painter"-- will be given by the Rev. LeRoy L. Carlson, who is the founder and president of The Warner F. Sallman Art Collection, Inc. The program of more than 160 slides will include the story of Sallman's life, the story of the "Head of Christ," the life of Christ Using Sallman art, and more than 40 of his other popular works of art.
