Mahube-Otwa participating in unsheltered individuals count on Jan. 26

The Point in Time Count is an important part of the statewide plan to end homelessness, examine trends and help better understand how to target resources.

WADENA — Mahube-Otwa is participating in the annual Point in Time (PIT) Unsheltered Count. The information helps regional agencies and impacts state and federal plans to address homelessness and provide resources.

The count will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 26. Unsheltered surveys can take place anytime from 5 p.m. on the night of the count through close of business on Friday, Jan. 28, collecting data for the night of the count.

If you or someone you know has slept in a car, camper, tent, shed or outside, Mahube wants to make sure everyone is accounted for. You can call Mahube-Otwa at 888-458-1385 to take part in the survey. Surveys are optional.

The PIT Count is an important part of the statewide plan to end homelessness, examine trends and help better understand how to target resources. Emergency and housing services are also available through Mahube.

Mahube-Otwa serves Mahnomen, Hubbard, Becker, Otter Tail and Wadena counties. Their offices are in Wadena, Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Park Rapids and Mahnomen.
