Guests enjoyed grand weather in the 40th year of England Prairie Pioneer Days Aug. 23-25 just west of Verndale.

The event kicked off with a supper serving a couple hundred visitors. Royalty honors were given to Patty Derby, who was given a queen's crown as the 20th member of the events royalty.

Saturday brought out rows and rows of antique stock and modified tractors for a crowd during the tractor pull.

The smaller scale lawn mower pull was a main event of Sunday as the weather cooled further under cloudy skies.
