Area Halloween fun and fall festivities

Oct. 27

WDC's Halloween Extravaganza

Wadena-Deer Creek High School will be hosting its ninth annual Halloween Extravaganza on from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27. This is a fun event for the entire family! Youth 10 and under are invited at the Wadena-Deer Creek Middle/High School Gym and commons.

Cost of admission includes nonperishable items for the Wadena Food Shelf.

This event features old-fashioned carnival games (run by high school students), cookie decorating, costume contest, meet Wooly the Wolverine, and more.

Monster Run

The WDC Track and Field Team is hosting their fifth annual Monster Run on Saturday, October 27. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9 a.m. no matter the weather conditions.

All proceeds from this event go directly to the track team. Registration form can be found at the WDC school website or for more information, contact Track Coach Marc Reynolds at 632-2305.

Awards are given to the top male and female finishers as well as to best costume. Runners are encouraged to run in costume.

Youth Halloween Party in Sebeka

Area youth, sixth grade and younger, are invited to Sebeka for a Halloween Party. The party is planned from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Sebeka High School Gym.

Games and activities for all ages are planned.

Blue Grass Harvest Festival at St. Hubert's Catholic Church

St. Hubert's will be hosting their 2018 Harvest Festival from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Faith Formation Center. The event features a brunch of barbeques, brats and sauerkraut, hot dogs and potato salad. Door prizes, BINGO, silent auction,crafts, bake sale and candy.

Parish nurses will be taking blood pressure readings and providing health information.

Oct. 31

Congregational United Church of Christ event

A Trunk or Treat event will be held at the Congregational United Church of Christ on the corner of Colfax Avenue and First Street. Church members and friends will have vehicles parked in the parking lot on the north side of the street and will be handing out treats from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 31. All community children are invited to attend. Please use the First Street entrance to the parking lot.

Epicenter Church 'Candy Crush Night'

From 5:30 -7 p.m. Oct. 31 EPICENTER Church will have a free community event for the whole family called 'Candy Crush Night.' It's an evening of fun and games. Their parking lot will be set up with decorated cars that will be giving candy away, and inside the building find game stations set up where kids can get more candy and prizes. You can warm up with hot beverages as you enjoy connecting with people from the community and the church, or enjoy a movie with the kids in the worship center.

Verndale Community Fall Festival

The Verndale Family Life Church is hosting a Community Fall Festival from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Verndale Public School cafeteria. Games and candy all from a warm location, all for free.
