In a field of 12 chili contenders, The Meadows of Wadena came out as top chili during the annual Chili Cook-Off Thursday in Wadena.

The white chicken chili beat out a variety of red chilis that were shared with all those coming out to enjoy a sampling. In all, the Wadena Chamber of Commerce collected 183 votes by those looking to pick their favorite variety.

Coming in second was the Wadena VFW and KWAD cooked up a third place finish.

Some businesses offered up water along with chili to help cool down the hundreds of chili tasters along the route.

Jen Oyster, director of resident services at The Meadows can be attributed for the recipe and The Meadows chef Jennifer Wirth made sure it was cooked to perfection.
