Korenne presents Matrons, Madams and Madwomen March 13

Singer/songwriter Elisa Korenne will present a program of original songs and stories about some little known, but incredibly interesting women on Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at the Robertson Theatre in Wadena.

"Matrons, Madams and Madwomen" is one of a series of free programs for spring 2016 presented by the Wadena County Historical Society.

Korenne is a singer, songwriter, storyteller and student of history who weaves songs about the human condition from strands of rock, blues, folk and Americana. Recently, Prairie Public Broadcasting commissioned her songs and performances for ten mini-documentary music videos.

The March 13 concert is at the Robertson Theatre in Wadena located at the Wadena Deer Creek High School on 600 Colfax Ave SW, Wadena.

Monroe Crossing in New York Mills Friday

The Cultural Center in New York Mills proudly presents the Monroe Crossing Bluegrass and Gospel Show at the James Mann Center for the Performing Arts at the New York Mills School on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Based in the Twin Cities, Monroe Crossing plays an average of 150 shows a year in intimate rooms, at major venues and outdoor festivals. Monroe Crossing is made up of five personalities with differing musical backgrounds. When combined, their individual histories make for a very unique ensemble sound.

Wadena Area Community band performs spring concert March 20

The Wadena Area Community band presents Spring Fling, a concert of musical spring anticipation Sunday, March 20.

The concert starts at 3 p.m. at the Wadena-Deer Creek Middle/High School commons. There is no admission charge.
