Thursday, March 3

  • Donate blood at the Maslowski Wellness and Research Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The center is at 17 SW 5th Street, Wadena.
  • Head to the theatre for family fun and dinner with Lamplighter Community Theatre's production of "The Velveteen Rabbit" at the Staples-Motley High School cafeteria. Performances are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m. A matinee is also on Saturday at noon. Tickets are $25 at .
  • Enjoy a mix of classical and folk music in a concert with flutist Linda Chatterton and harpist Rachel Brandwein at 7:30 p.m. at the New York Mills Cultural Center. Tickets are $10 for adults ($12 at the door) or $5 for students. COVID safety guidelines observed. Please stay home if ill.

Friday, March 4

  • Donate blood at the Staples Community Center from noon to 6 p.m. The center is at 425 NE 4th St., Staples.
  • Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Wadena County Public Health from 10 a.m. to noon. Call 218-631-7629 for an appointment. The clinic is at 22 SE Dayton Ave., Wadena.
  • Enjoy the free farm and outdoor show at the Maslowski from 2-7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Meet with local businesses centered in the agriculture and outdoor markets and enjoy special events.

Saturday, March 5

  • Join fellow readers for a discussion on "The Best We Could Do" at 10:30 a.m. at the New York Mills Public Library. Call the library at 218-385-2436 if you plan to attend.

Monday, March 7


  • Wadena County Board meets at 6:30 p.m. for a public hearing on considering establishing the county recorder position as appointed. The meeting is at the Wadena County Courthouse lower level multi-purpose room.
  • WDC band and choir concert in the WDC High School gym. Fifth -eighth grade band and seventh-eighth grade choir perform at 1:30 p.m.; Ninth-12th grade band and choir at 7:30 p.m.
  • COVID-19 testing at the Wadena Armory from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Tuesday, March 8

  • Donate blood at the Bluffton Community Center from 1-7 p.m. The center is at 202 Center St., Bluffton.
  • Wadena Senior Center business meeting at 1 p.m.
