A young entrepreneur has found success in marketing healthy, nutritious foods. Juiced! is located in downtown Wadena and serves juice, smoothies, fruit bowls and more.

Since opening in the fall of 2015 and entrepreneur Raymond Spartz has slowly been building his brand, adding products and remodeling the space.

A 2013 Wadena-Deer Creek graduate, Spartz moved to Fargo to experience city life for a little while before returning to Wadena. Juiced! combines his love for graphic design and branding with being healthy.

"I've been doing graphic design and web design since I was 12 years old. I've always kind of had a knack for that," he said. "I worked for a branding firm in Fargo (Knight Printing) for a few months and in that time I worked on brands and saw many business plans and the process behind it."

During that time, Spartz also became interested in health and nutrition.

"I found the value in that. As I started to eat worse, I had certain health issues and so I started to search for ways to refine my diet," he said. "I found that juicing really helps with that."

After checking out different health stores in Fargo, he realized a good business needs a good brand and can't rely solely on the product.

Spartz was able to line up some investors to help him open the juice and smoothie bar in Wadena. He has done a lot of the construction and remodeling on his own and with the help of friends and family.

"I'm just building my brand right now and seeing what works," he said. "I'm taking it slow. I'd like to grow but it doesn't have to happen right away."

The fresh pressed juices and smoothies have all natural ingredients and are different than other chains that add sugar and unhealthy ingredients. His products are gluten free, dairy free and vegan. He plans to add sandwiches, soups, coffee, tea and other items later this year.

Spartz wants Juiced! to be a place where people to hang out and spend time while sipping on juice or tea.

Juiced! is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. It is located in downtown Wadena, 60 Jefferson Street South. Juiced! is also on Facebook and Instagram.
