In January, the City of Menahga will offer a six-week business planning seminar series. The series is called "Jump Start Menahga" and is open to all aspiring entrepreneurs.
The business series is a joint effort between the city, the Economic Alliance, and the Small Business Development Center. The series is funded in part by the Initiative Foundation.
The ultimate goal of the seminar series is to help aspiring business owners build their business plans. Individuals wanting to participate need three things, a business idea, internet access, and six free nights from January to February. The exact dates are still being determined. The series will use an online business plan design tool offered by the Small Business Administration.
"This series stands out from others that are offered," said Katie Heppner, Executive Director of The Economic Alliance, and lead instructor. Usually, seminars of this nature don't offer much assistance outside of the initial creation of a business plan. "Jump Start Menahga" will carefully guide entrepreneurs to fleshing out their dream business.
If you're interested in the seminar, two open houses will be held at noon and 5 p.m., Nov. 29, at Menahga City Hall. If you can't attend the open house and want more information, contact Katie Heppner at firstname.lastname@example.org or 218-837-5950.
