Wadena's Walmart will change from a 24-hour store to a 19-hour store effective Saturday, April 27.
As of that date you won't be able to make a middle-of-the-night run as the store will only be open from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. While that may cause an inconvenience for some, it's meant to allow for more staffing during peak customer traffic.
"We're continually looking at how we can best serve our customers," Casey Staheli, senior manager of national media relations with Walmart shared in an email response. "Based on a recent review of shopping patterns at our Wadena store, we're adjusting hours and reallocating resources to better serve our customers during peak shopping hours. Starting on April 27, the Wadena store will operate from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m."
Changes you may notice include overnight stocking occuring in the day time.
The company is eliminating the overnight shift that restocks the aisles at about 300 stores, and will aim to transition those employees to other hours, according to a Bloomberg article. The impacted stores are primarily smaller ones with lower annual sales or customer traffic, it continued.
