Question: What are the differences in the new youth driver's license laws? 15 year old farm permit user, provisional 16 year old driver's license through age 18. Please include how many non-related passengers they can have and what times of the day they can drive. This is a good refresher to the parents with teens this age.
Wijunjon, Pigeon Egg Head to you, was handsome and fearless, someone the Assiniboine Nation could be proud of. He was a warrior without peers. The scalps of his victims swung by the dozens from his doeskin clothes. His father was a chief. When Indian agent Major Sanford invited Pigeon Egg Head to accompany him to Washington to represent his tribe, he agreed. It was an honor.
Question: I'm wondering, is the use of blinkers a state law or only an optional courtesy suggestion? It seems to me that the use of cell phones has increased, the use of blinkers has decreased. Also, if it is a law — in changing lanes or making a turn, at what point should the blinker be put on (how far ahead of the turn?) Thank you!
According to an article published in a 1927 edition of the Pioneer Journal, the first meeting to seriously consider the improvement of roads was held in Wadena in 1912. It was attended mostly by automobile owners. A year later, the auto owners met again, this time in Sebeka, and took the first steps to arrange a systematic road building program for the entire county. In 1915, it was announced that the Jefferson Highway would pass through Wadena and in August of that year $1100 was raised by public subscription and spent in improving the road approaches to the village of Wadena.
The Wadena-Deer Creek chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) is now under way with their Toys for Tots Drive. Students in grades K through 6 are being asked to donate new, unwrapped toys which will be distributed to less fortunate children of families who reside in Wadena County.
I would much rather be on the side of giving than receiving and as such, like most people, I get far more satisfaction in helping others than receiving help from others.
When this column hits the newsstands, Wadena-Deer Creek High School will already be knee-deep in the 2013-14 winter sports season. Dance, wrestling, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls hockey, and cheerleading will be rolling, not to mention the conclusion of the fall play in the Memorial Auditorium. Winter is a time when one needs a shoe horn to fit another activity in our gyms and ice sheets. Then our glorious Minnesota winter will show herself and already crazy winter sports schedules will become even crazier as activities directors scramble to make up lost games.
As Americans, the holiday of Thanksgiving holds a special significance to us; our Thanksgiving holiday is a time that shares the spheres of patriotism and worship as we remember God's protections of our national forefathers and reflect on God's daily goodness and provisions to us.
