On Nov. 28, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office, Agents from the West Central Drug and Violent Offender Task Force (WCDVOTF) and the Wadena Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 10 and 125th Ave. on a vehicle that was suspected to be involved in Methamphetamine trafficking and sales. Agents on scene were assisted by Perham Police Department’s K-9, which indicated on the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
Farm Service Agency (FSA) County Executive Director, Mike Stevens is challenging all Wadena and Hubbard County Producers to participate in this year's 2016 County Committee Elections. "The National Average for returning ballots is less than 10 percent and Wadena and Hubbard Producers have historically beaten this average, but we are capable of getting at least half of our ballots returned," Stevens said.
Motorists on eastbound Highway 10 between 2nd and 3rd Streets in Wadena will see traffic shifted to the center lane as crews work to repair a broken water pipe. The lane shift will begin at noon on Feb. 23 and conclude by 7 p.m. on March 2. No wide loads (over 8 ½ feet wide) will be permitted. Traffic will be restricted to regular-width, non-permitted loads. Drivers are urged to slow down to posted speeds in the work zones.
