Wadena-Deer Creek High School's National Honor Society held a blood drive today, where students and staff had the opportunity to donate blood and help save lives. Today's NHS blood drive was so successful, it broke a new unit record. Senior NHS members Jennifer Craig and Morgan Zeise coordinated the blood drive as their community-service project. They worked hard to pre-register students and staff to be donors, put up posters, promoted the blood drive on the radio, and recruited NHS members to help serve as "blood buddies" for the drive. Their goal was 54 units of blood.
The WDC Scholarship Fund is a scholarship available to all Wadena-Deer Creek seniors. There is no other criteria to apply. The only fundraiser we have for this scholarship is the phonathon. As college is getting more and more expensive, the more we can help our students, the better. WDC National Honor Society members will be calling parents of WDC 7-12 graders on Nov. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. Any and all donations are appreciated! If you would like to donate, please drop off at the high school or send to: WDC Scholarship Fund, 600 Colfax Ave. SW, Wadena, MN 56482.
