I really enjoy potato salad, but I get bored with the same recipe. This variation of potato salad is crunchy, firmer, and includes bacon - who doesn't love bacon? Red Potato Salad Makes 12 servings • 2 lbs. scrubbed red skinned new potatoes • 6 eggs • 1 lb. bacon • 1 onion, finely chopped • 1 celery stalk, finely chopped • 2 c. light mayonnaise • Salt and pepper to taste

State competition was a long time coming for the Wadena-Deer Creek boys hockey team, but they finally can lay some ghosts of hockey past to rest. They've been close before in Section 4A playoffs, but fell short of their dream of making it to state. The Wolverines hockey team had made it twice to the championship game of the section playoffs and lost both to Fergus Falls back in 1993-94 and 1999-2000.
I love spicy food, but my kids do not. This recipe for Hobo Hot Dish balances my need for heat with their mild tastes. It is really easy to make and so delicious. Hobo Hot Bake Makes eight servings • 2 pkgs. turkey kielbasa, sliced • 3 lbs. small red potatoes, halved • 1 lb. baby carrots • 1 large onion, sliced • 3 whole bay leaves • 3 teas. oregano • 2 Tbl. garlic, finely chopped • 3 teas. basil • 3 Tbl. olive oil • Sriracha hot sauce (optional) • Salt and pepper to taste
Last week, I took my daughter, niece and nephew to see 'Mr. Peabody and Sherman.' I thought the kids would enjoy it, even if I didn't. I was therefore surprised at how much I enjoyed this fun family film. The backstory of the film is that Mr. Peabody, a dog, was never adopted from the animal shelter and instead works hard to educate himself, becoming one of the smartest beings on Earth, and adopts Sherman as a baby when a judge says, "if a boy can adopt a dog, I see no reason why a dog can't adopt a boy."
