Congratulations to Leanne Buettner, who correctly identified the mystery photo in the Foto Find contest as the dedicated plaque from 1956 when the addition to St. Ann's school was done...
With Thanksgiving behind us, Christmas looms closer. One of my family traditions is to take my children to a tree farm to pick the perfect Christmas tree. After the right tree is brought home, we start decorating both the tree and the house with Christmas music playing in the background and this recipe for hot chocolate. The cayenne pepper gives it a little zip. Smokin' White Hot Chocolate 4 cups milk, 2 percent 8 ounces white chocolate chips 1 egg, beaten one-fourth teas. cayenne pepper three-fourths teas. cinnamon

Tim Pawlenty to call for the death penalty in some instances. Pawlenty said he supports the death penalty in cases of sexual assault that end in murder. As a lawmaker, he supported the death penalty when law enforcement officers or children are killed.

My family goes a little crazy with pies at Thanksgiving. We usually have at least a half-dozen pies, sometimes up to a dozen. This is a favorite that is really easy to make and usually is eaten quickly. Creamy Apple Pie 2 and one-half tablespoons all-purpose flour One-half teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg One-fourth teaspoon salt Three-fourths cup sugar One unbeaten egg One cup sour cream One and one-half teaspoons vanilla Two cups Granny Smith apples (diced and peeled, about 4 apples) 2 unbaked 9-inch pie shells
November marks my favorite time of year when the cooler temperatures roll in, the days get shorter, and the holidays approach.
5 years ago Excerpts from the Nov. 20, 2008 Pioneer Journal • Which violation to cite him for? On Nov. 16, a Verndale police officer stopped a man for loud exhaust, a broken tail light, cracked windshield and no side mirror. During the stop the officer noticed a clear bag filled with fresh meat in the vehicle. The driver said it was venison. The bag had no name, license number or date on it. Also in the vehicle was a compound bow and arrows.
Growing up in the Seattle area, I loved having a variety of food options available to me - Thai, Indian, teriyaki, seafood, Vietnamese and Filipino are some of my favorites. I miss having these foods and any time I get to Seattle I indulge. I have tried several times to make curry, my absolute favorite, at home and finally hit upon this delicious recipe. Enjoy! Thai Red Curry
