Wadena-Deer Creek second-graders Amsale Loer, Bethany Collins, Amber Collins and Ava White proudly wear their fleece hats they made in class recently. Donna Geiser taught the students how to make the warm and fuzzy hats to Junelle Jackson’s class. Geiser has done this project for many years and has made over 10,000 hats for kids.

WDC second-grader Derek Peterson enjoys a pluot in Vicki Smith’s class. A pluot is a cross between a plum and an apricot. Pluots are sweet and juicy and just about the right size for a kid’s afternoon snack. Sometimes the pluot is called “dinosaur eggs” because they’re egg-shaped with a pinkish-red mottled appearance. What kid wouldn’t love to eat a dinosaur egg?
WDC Schools awarded Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Grant

The Rock In Prevention program stopped by WDC Elementary and Middle/High School today (Sept. 18) to teach students skills and methods on how to stop bullying.
