A nine-year victory drought in their regular season series with Mid-State Conference hockey foe Park Rapids came to an end last Thursday when Wadena-Deer Creek posted a 2-1 overtime win at Park Rapids. The victory was a double honor for the Wolverines who took home the Highway 71 trophy for the first time. The Wolverines notched a 5-3 win over Park Rapids at the WDC Hockey Arena earlier this season. The trophy will reside in the WDC locker room for the rest of the season. Submitted photo
