PRC teams can expect more trouble with Pirates

Verndale players celebrate a point in the second set of their match last Thursday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The Pirates rallied from a 25-18 loss in the first set to win the second one 25-20. The victory was the first in a state tournament by a Verndale squad.

Members of the Verndale volleyball team celebrated a victory over Park Region Conference rival Bertha-Hewitt last Thursday during a West Sub-Section 4 playoff game on the Verndale court. The Pirates also won Friday night and earned a trip to Pierz Thursday to face Browerville-Eagle Valley.
