Adam Bright of Boulder, Colo. won the 20th annual Great American Think-0ff in New York Mills. This year's contest revisited the very first debate question, "The Nature of Humankind: Inherently Good or Inherently Evil?" Bright argued that humanity is evil. He was one of four finalists to debate at the tournament-style contest.

The Ronald McDonald House Ride pulls into Deer Creek Saturday afternoon en route to Parkers Prairie. The ride enjoyed another record-setting year with 1,507 motorcycles participating in the 2012 event. Organizers collected 1,620 gallons of aluminum can pop which has raised $131,170.

Betsy Roder of New York Mills plants prairie grasses and flowers with her son Bergen on May 26 in New York Mills. Roder, who works at the New York Mills Cultural Center, said, "This turned out to be lots of fun. My boys and I brought our own rocks to lay here today.
