The third-graders in John Keranen's class have been keeping in regular communication with Brayden Kleinke's dad who is currently stationed overseas. Students write letters and cards, email, and Skype with SFC Michael Kleinke while he is deployed. He scheduled to return home in May. Kleinke is 8,000 miles from Wadena and has sent many pictures of the vehicles they regularly use and recently sent patches for all the kids to wear. Pictured are: Brayden Kleinke, Kerane...

Heaven Ecker is one of many Wolverine students who participated in Valentines for Vets at the elementary school. The Park Rapids Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary 38 promotes cooperation from a wide variety of schools. The valentines are welcomed by veterans in hospitals, rest homes and veteran homes throughout the state of Minnesota.
