Adam Bright of Boulder, Colo. won the 20th annual Great American Think-0ff in New York Mills. This year's contest revisited the very first debate question, "The Nature of Humankind: Inherently Good or Inherently Evil?" Bright argued that humanity is evil. He was one of four finalists to debate at the tournament-style contest.

Steven Ayers launches a water rocket, as part of the completion of a WDC Fifth Grade science unit. Students shot off their hand-made rockets on the Deer Creek School green space, and competed for distance. Building materials consisted of recycled plastic bottles, duct tape and cardboard. This annual event is coordinaated by science instructors Patty Berg, Zach Martin and Dave Sea.
