Theisen fires 94 at Longbow

Heather Theisen shot a 94 Monday to pace the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in the Section 8AA tournament at Longbow.

Competing as the runner-up team in their sub-section, the Wolverines should a fourth-place team round of 392. Detroit Lakes took top team honors with a 310 to qualify for a state tournament berth June 11-12 at the Sand Creek Golf Course near Jordan.

Rounding out the scoring for the Wolverines was Paige Hartman and Gabi Ross with 98s, Jess Rondesvedt with a 102, Hope Theisen with a 104 and Jessica Langer with a 127.

Detroit Lakes’ Matt Tschider was medalist with a 76. Tschider will be joined at state by teammates Trisa Hutchinson (77), Natalie Roth (78), Emma Thompson (79), Kate Smith (82) and Sydney Busker (83).

Qualifying for state competition as individuals were Perham’s Rebecca Huus (80) and Rachel Nelson (87), Fergus Falls’ Megan Niblock (83) and Alexa Bekkerus (84) and Park Rapids’ Mariena Dearsty (86).
