Raiders topple Huskies in Section 6A

 Sarah and Teresa Moenkedick both collected three hits and Jordyn Glenz drove in three runs Tuesday as Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale crushed Pillager 10-2 in Section 6A fastpitch action.

The victory propelled the Raiders to a showdown with the No. 1-ranked Ashby Arrows. The Raiders handed the Arrows their first loss of the season May 7 in a regular season game at Verndale.

Kirsten Korfe allowed the Huskies only five hits. Korfe walked one and fanned six.

Kirsten Korfe tossed seven innings as the Raiders closed out the regular season with a victory over the Hornets.

Korfe walked five but only gave up four hits.

Elyssa Kern went 1-for-3 and scored twice for the Raiders.

BHV 12-9, Parkers Prairie 10-15

The Raiders rapped out five doubles and out-hit the Panthers 14-10 to gain a split May 16 in a doubleheader slugfest with Parkers Prairie.

Kirsten Korfe doubled twice in support of her own pitching cause. Korfe was 3-for-5 at the plate, scored once and drove in one RBI.

Tiffany Wangerin was BHV’s top RBI stick driving in three runs and scoring a pair in her lead-off spot.

Teresa Moenkedick, Jordyn Glenz and Julie Lliff combined for seven hits, five runs and five RBIs.

Anna Guenther led the Panthers at the plate going 2-for-3 with one run and three ribbies.

Micaela Noga homered and drove in five runs as the Panthers routed the Raiders in Game 2.

Guenther also homered for the Panthers and drove in four runs.

Teresa Moenkedick led the Raiders at the plate going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Elyssa Kern scored three times and Sarah Moenkedick, Jordyn Glenz and Hannah VanHale all scored twice.
