Four Wadena-Deer Creek shooters scored in double figures Dec. 28 as the Wolverines racked up third-place honors in the Sebeka Holiday Tournament by topping the host Trojans 74-70 in overtime.

Dylan Dumpprope paced the Wolverines with 23 points. Isaac Laughlin clicked for 21 tallies. Jacob Goeden and Blake Connell added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

A field goal by Dumpprope sent the game into overtime with nine seconds left. Dumpprope, Laughlin and Connell all made four points in the overtime period.

The Trojans were leading by eight with two minutes left.

"We made some mistakes during the stretch that didn't help us," Sebeka Head Coach Jon Lillquist said.

Carlos Castro, a 5-9 forward, was high point man for Sebeka with 20. Derek Lillquist, Jason Steinke and Justin Clark all pumped in 11 points.

The overtime win was the first coaching victory for WDC Interim Head Coach Doug Haas, and gave the Wolverines a 4-4 season mark.

The Wolverines host Park Rapids on Tuesday and go on the road Friday for a game with Verndale.
