Goeden shoots 97 in Mid-Minn
Wadena-Deer Creek standout Jacob Goeden posted a 97 Monday as he joined exclusive company at The Legacy on East Gull Lake for the Mid-Minn Conference golf championship.
Goeden qualified for the event May 9 by shooting a 93 in the Mid-Minn Conference finals at Breezy Point.
Staples-Motley's Nick Forsberg and Pequot Lakes' Alex Goerges tied for medalist honors with rounds of 74.

Wolverines place seventh in Co-ed Invitational
Jacob Goeden came up with a 92 Saturday as the Wolverines placed seventh in the Wadena-Deer Creek Co-ed Invitational.
Wesley Janson was eight strokes off Goeden's pace, with an even 100. Mitchell Swanson and Tony Reurink both shot 110. Matthew Quincy and Adam Lund shot 111 and 115 respectively.
Staples-Motley's Mitch Hagenson and Michael Strain both shot rounds of 76 for medalist honors. Also placing in the top six were Staples-Motley's Trent Hagenson and Andrew Israelson, with rounds of 77 and 79. Grand Rapids' Austin Fowler brought in a 77, and Crosby-Ironton's James Cragun carded a 78.
Staples-Motley won the boys' competition with a 308. The Wolverines were seventh with a 412.
Top tournament honors, a combination of the boys and girls team scores, went to Grand Rapids with a 659. Staples-Motley came in with a 668, Park Rapids shot a combined 709, WDC was fourth with an 800 and Nevis brought in an 828.
