Meyer notches another first in Hank Emmel

Logan Meyer grabbed another shot put title Thursday in the Hank Emmel Invitational at Pelican Rapids.

Meyer put the shot 51-2 in the meet, just two days after recording a personal best 54-foot toss in the Hawley Booster.

Backing up Meyer with two fourth place finishes was Neil Janson who turned the 800 in 2:09.56 and ran the 1,600 in 4:55.34.

WDC's 4x400 relay team of Chris Steward, Jeff Webb, Shane Motschenbacher and Janson brought in a fifth place time of 3:46.96.

WDC's Kierann Steward placed third in the 100 dash with a 13.03 and third in the 200 dash with a 27.42. Emma Schmitz was second in the 3,200 run with a 12:34.82. Autumn Jahnke went 7-6 in the pole vault to claim third place.

Steward teamed up with Kayla Hanson, Lindsey Eliason and Courtney Dumpprope to post a runner-up time of 53.49 in the 4x100 relay.

Schmitz joined Sydney Greenwaldt, Liz Peterson and Brianna Rosenthal to run a 11:11.59 time for sixth in the 4x800 relay.

Otter Tail Central dominated the boys' competition with 143 points. The Wolverines were 11th with 20 points. Pelican Rapids racked up 109 points for the girls' title. The WDC girls placed seventh with 35.
