Road Crew wins BHV Triangular

The Road Crew of Pequot Lakes, Pine River and Backus took top honors in the Bertha-Hewitt Triangular Tuesday in Verndale by clubbing Osakis 57-19 and defeating BHV 45-36.

Mike Barthel's BHV wrestlers earned runner-up honors by topping Osakis 45-24.

Double winners for the Raiders included Ethan Kimber at 126, Hayden Truax at 152, Dillon Card at 182, Andrew Bounds at 195 and Dalton Baker at 285.

State-ranked heavyweight Colin Turchin did not wrestle for the Raiders. Turchin was a runner-up in the heavyweight bracket Saturday in the Wolverine Invitational.

Raiders claim runner-up honors at Minnewaska

Mike Barthel saw his Raiders go 1-1 in their season opener Dec. 1 in the Minnewaska Triangular.

The Raiders topped Minnewaska 41-33 but lost a 60-15 decision to triangular champ Kimball Area.

Dillon Card and Colin Turchin were the only double winners for the Raiders at 195 and 285.

The Raiders found themselves trailing 33-17 in their match with Minnewaska but Card, Turchin, Andrew Bounds and Dalton Baker posted victories in the final four weights to give BHV the comeback win.
