The third annual disc golf tournament had clear, sunny weather on Saturday, Sept. 24 as people from around central Minnesota gathered in Wadena for fun and fundraising for the food shelf.

Curt Leeseberg of Main Street Sports said they had the highest number of competitors this year, and there is increasing interest in the sport. Brainerd also has a disc golf league.

The tournament was held at Sunnybrook Park. Since disc gliders don't fly nearly as straight as regular golf balls, there were a few of them to be pulled out of the natural water hazard of Whiskey Creek.

"It was a great day," Leeseberg said.
