Stuntebeck's shooting team joining Lindenwood University Hall of Fame

Wadena's Bryan Stuntebeck will be honored for his trapshooting prowess in Lindenwood University's fifth Athletic Hall of Fame ceremonies.

The 2011 class will have 10 members, including six former student-athletes, one meritorious service honoree and three teams.

The Lindenwood shooting team won the 2004 ACUI Intercollegiate Clay Target National Championship. The victory was the first national title and started a dynasty for the Lions shooting program. Lindenwood finished the event by hitting 1,377 out of 1,450 targets and won the tournament by 57 targets. As a team, Lindenwood swept every competition at nationals. Nivia Jones was the National Lady Champions and Gebben Miles finished third in the individual overall race. Brad Deauman won the International Skeet and Five-Stand events, and William Gowin was first in the International Trap competition. Joe Steenbergen was the head coach of the 2004 Lindenwood shooting team.

The 2011 induction ceremony will take place during Lindenwood's Homecoming, Oct. 14-15.
