Raiders rally past Hawley in 6A sub-section play

Steve Riewer's Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Raiders scored seven times in the fifth and sixth innings Tuesday en route to a 10-5 victory over Hawley in the Sub-Section 6A playoffs.

Jared Hoemberg went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in one run in the victory. Matt Fretham scored twice and drove in two runs. Lead-off man Austin Selvey went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Hunter Lawson led the Nuggets at the plate going 3-for-4. Tanner Schultz drove in two runs.

Dustin Motschenbacher gave the Raiders 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief pitching to gain the mound win.

BHV 9, Pine River-Backus 3

The Raiders got six runs, four hits and four RBIs from the top four batters in their lineup Thursday as they clubbed Pine River-Backus at Anderson Park.

Dustin Motschenbacher scored three times for the Raiders and Austin Selvey scored twice. Jared Hoemberg and Ethan Bakken both collected two hits and drove in two runs apiece.

Dallas Ehrmantraut survived a shaky first inning and then went on to blank the Tigers five of the next six innings. Ehrmantraut surrendered only two hits in gaining the win.

Beau Howard was credited with two RBIs for the Tigers.
