Three-run rally sinks Raiders

Hunter Arnold, Austin Samuelson and C.J. Jahnke all collected three hits Tuesday as the Parkers Prairie Panthers staged a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to edge Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale 4-3.

Jared Hoemberg went 2-3 with one run and one RBI in the loss.

BHV's Ethan Bakken and Parkers' Trey Thompson both threw four innings out shutout ball. Bakken gave way to Dallas Ehrmantraut in the fifth after scattering seven hits. Eric Ronning came on in the sixth to spell Thompson and earn credit for the win.

The loss dropped the Raiders to 7-9 in Park Region Conference play.

Ben Woodman and Brett Collins picked up back-to-back mound victories on a rainy Thursday in Battle Lake.

Woodman picked up the win in Game 1 and held off a three-run rally by the Raiders in the top of the seventh. Woodman joined Zane Lind in going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Jared Hoemberg went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs for the Raiders. Adam Selvey went 2-for-4 and scored once in the lead-off spot.

Ethan Bakken was hung with the loss.

The Raiders were holding a 3-2 lead after four innings of the nightcap when the Bulldogs took advantage of four free passes to score five times.

Bakken and Nick Jasmer both went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Raiders. Dallas Ehrmantraut went 2-for-3. Selvey drove in a pair of runs.

Gunnar Kimber went 2-for-2 and Adam Marso scored three times for the Bulldogs.
