Wing sets winning pace in Mid-Minnesota event

Wadena-Deer Creek's Michael Wing shot a sizzling 71 Wednesday at the Headwaters to claim medalist honors in the Mid-Minnesota tournament.

Bryan Silvers was eight strokes off Wing's pace with a 79. Tyler Fix and Duke Harrison came in with scores of 86 and 88. Jacob Goeden shot 100.

Fix shoots 75 to earn

all-conference honors

Tyler Fix earned co-medalist honors Monday and secured all-conference honors for himself by firing a 75 in the Mid-State Conference golf meet at the Headwaters in Park Rapids.

Fix shared medalist honors with Detroit Lakes' Austin Rusness, who sparked his team to a nine-stroke victory over Staples-Motley in team competition.

All-conference honors also went to Crosby Ironton's Mitch Gutzman and Staples-Motley's Zach Israelson and Nick Forsberg. All three golfers carded a 77.

Wadena-Deer Creek's Michael Wing was 11 strokes behind the leaders with an 86. Rounding out the WDC scoring was Bryan Silvers (92), Duke Harrison (95), Tyler Heinzen (97) and Jacob Goeden (99).
