Schwartz leads Menahga past Wadena-Deer Creek

Tanner Schwartz gunned in 21 points and Kasey Tyge canned 15 Thursday night as the Menahga Braves rallied past Wadena-Deer Creek 56-50.

The Wolverines held Schwartz to a pair of threes in the first half as they grabbed a 28-15 lead.

"We played two totally different halves at Menahga Thursday night," WDC head coach Tom VanErp said. "We controlled the tempo, got the ball inside and controlled the boards very well to take a 13-point lead into the locker room."

With Schwartz knocking down three treys and 15 points in the second half and Tyge scoring all 15 of his game points, the hot-shooting Braves turned the tables on WDC and out-scored the Wolverines 41-22 for their eighth win in 17 games.

The Braves shot a cool 18.5 percent from the field in the first half and 61 percent in the second.

Jordan Reed put together an 18-point, 15-rebound game for the Wolverines who dropped to 7-11.
