WDC rolls over C-I

Steph Hahn and Leah Dykhoff knocked the Crosby-Ironton Rangers for a loop Tuesday in leading Wadena-Deer Creek to a Mid-State Conference sweep.

Hahn turned in a sterling performance as the Wolverines marched to a 13-2 victory in Game 1.

The WDC right-hander fanned 11, walked one and surrendered only two hits.

Dykhoff led a 14-hit attack by going 4-for-4 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs.

Backing Dykhoff up at the plate were Sam Holweger and Lexie Hoemberg. Holweger collected three hits in four trips, scored three times and drove in a two runs. Hoemberg went 2-for-4, scored once and drove in a run. Hahn helped her own cause with a triple.

Hahn was back on the mound for Game 2 and topped her first game performance by firing a one-hitter as WDC triumphed 6-0.

Pitching in a cold wind did not bother Hahn as she struck out nine and did not allow a walk.

The Rangers had no answers for Dykhoff as the WDC lead-off hitter went 3-for-3, slugged two lead-off home runs, scored three times and drove in two runs.
